Who you work with.
The Way Better team.

Kyler Obata
Founder and Creative Director
Kyler is a brand strategist, creative director, and the founder of Way Better Studios.
From 2017 to 2018, while still in college, he worked part time as a videographer for Urban Necessities, a sneaker consignment store doing eight figures a year, driven almost entirely through organic social. It was there he learned the power of personal branding, and how it could turn a business into a multi-million dollar cash cow.
In 2018 he interned on the UFC social media team, whose collective platforms carried 70 million followers. He learned how a business at that scale engineers content specifically to drive revenue.
From 2020 to 2021 he was videographer and lead editor for Ryan Pineda. His work took the brand past 100,000 YouTube subscribers in nine months, 500,000 on TikTok and 200,000 on Instagram, and helped drive over $3M in sales in twelve months.
He founded Way Better Studios in 2022 as a podcast and social media rental studio, then pivoted it to a personal branding agency in 2025. Today he works with a select group of clients alongside a small team, taking business owners from completely unknown to a high value asset on social.
Outside the studio he hikes, with a goal of visiting every national park in the country, and spends as much time as he can with his dogs.
Kyler graduated from UNLV with a BA in Communications and a minor in Film, and holds a BS in Accounting from Grand Canyon University, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Sian Laine
Content Producer
Sian is a content producer who helps business owners create media that looks, feels, and reflects their personal brand.
From 2020 to 2023 he spent three years building Ryan Pineda’s personal brand through organic social, paid advertising, and event marketing, work that drove more than $15M in online coaching sales, collaborating with top creators in the business space.
In 2024 he produced and directed an independent short film, widening his background in high level visual storytelling and creative direction.
He joined Way Better Studios in 2025 as a content producer, helping clients transform their video production, set design, content ideas, and overall visual brand appearance.
Outside the studio he makes films of his own, and travels.
Sian graduated from Rocky Mountain College with a BA in Business Administration and Management.

Dylan Obata
Head of Technology
Dylan is a software engineer, and the person responsible for how Way Better Studios uses technology.
He builds scalable backend systems, specializing in microservice architecture, task scheduler design, and cloud native solutions, with more than three years of professional experience in Rust, Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
At the studio he works on integrating AI into how the business runs.
Outside the studio he is a foodie, and spends his time with his dog Henry.
Dylan double majored at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, graduating with a BS in Computer Science and a BS in Mathematics. He placed second in the Hardening Soft Targets hackathon hosted by Arizona State University and the Department of Homeland Security, and his research on the integer magic spectra of trees was published in the Journal of Combinatorial Mathematics and Combinatorial Computing.

Alex Patho
Content Strategist
Alex is a filmmaker and editor, and the content strategist at Way Better Studios.
In 2022 he was a production assistant for Warner Brothers, making world class films.
He transferred into content creation, helping 9 and 10 figure tech startups grow through social media, and has garnered millions of views collectively in brand exposure for those companies.
He has six years of experience filming with entrepreneurs who have built their personal brands to successfully drive more leads into their business.
Outside the studio he makes short films, travels the world, and watches F1.
